Hawaii was calculated to be hit at 11:05amPST by a tsunami as a result of the earthquake this morning in Chile. So far, only minor tsunami effects have been felt on the different coasts of the Hawaiian chain islands. So far, the evaluation in Chile is underway, and recently built modern highways have suffered major damages. Resources have been struggling to reach the most highly affected areas, although reports say all air resources have been continuous and successful.
The resulting impending threat to Hawaii still remain at 5:51pmEST, as only the beginning signs of a tsunami have already begun to take place in places where the threat is most disastrous like Hilo, Ohau, Honolulu, etc.
Some encouraging words from the Pacific Coast Tsunami Center, although the impending threat is still present, and an “all clear” has not yet been given at this time, is’ “We dodged a bullet.”
STUDYING THE MAP above we can see Chile in the lower right and how a massive earthquake can result in tsunamis in multiple parts related to the Pacific. Countries around the epicenter, as far as Argentina, felt the earthquake in Chile, which shows how massive this earthquake was, and two people as far as in Argentina, have been killed as a result, thus far.

Today’s Earthquake Fact
The Mariana Trench, located in the Pacific Ocean just east of the Mariana Islands, is the deepest part of the Earth’s oceans, with a maximum depth of about 11 km (6.8 miles). This is the deepest location on the surface of the Earth. The bottom of the trench is farther below sea level than Mount Everest is above it.
